It’s hard to believe that Makants was founded by Siobhan with the first intake being just one dog and one slip lead, some 12 years ago! The past 12 years certainly haven’t always been easy – what with COVID and the economic downturn – but we have, with your help, remained resilient and over those years have been able to help over 740 ex racing greyhounds into loving homes. In these uncertain times we are always so grateful for any donations that come our way.

*SPONSOR A KENNEL*
If looking for a gift for a loved one, why not consider sponsoring a kennel at Makants?
You can sponsor a kennel for 3 months (£15), 6 months (£30) 12 months (£60) or as a “continuous” sponsorship (£5 per month with a certificate sent at beginning of sponsorship)
We have kennel numbers 1 to 10 to choose from with details of who is occupying your sponsored kennel (please note however that this will change as the dogs are homed). Your sponsorship money will ensure support for veterinary care, food, bedding, rehabilitation, enrichment care and grooming for our kennel guests.
You will receive a certificate showing details of your sponsorship which can be personalised for someone special or as a gift to celebrate a special occasion. - £10.00 could pay for a new lead for one of our greyhounds
- £20.00 could pay for a new collar for one of our greyhounds
- £40.00 could pay for flea and worming treatment for one month for one of our greyhounds
- £50.00 could pay for a walking out coat and fleece, keeping a greyhound cosy
- £200.00 could pay our neutering costs for one greyhound

To date we have found forever homes for just over 740 greyhounds.
