It’s hard to believe that Makants was founded by Siobhan with the first intake being just one dog and one slip lead, some 10 years ago! The past 10 years certainly haven’t always been easy – what with COVID and the economic downturn – but we have, with your help, remained resilient and over those years have been able to help over 670 ex racing greyhounds into loving homes. In these uncertain times we are always so grateful for any donations that come our way.

- £10.00 could pay for a new lead for one of our greyhounds

At Makants we aim to help any greyhound in need. Founded by Siobhan Hoppley in 2013, Makants Greyhound Rescue, a registered charity, is based in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester. To date we have found forever homes for just over 670 greyhounds. The charity’s aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome retired and injured greyhounds but we also help find homes for greyhounds from individuals who can no longer provide the love and care they require.
