18 month old PAUL arrived with his siblings PELE and PETER on 27th January 2025. PAUL is a lovely boy, full of enthusiasm and very friendly. On walks he does not react to any other breeds of dog he meets. He is settling in well and has already spent some time in the enrichment (home from home) room where he found the washing machine particularly fascinating! As PAUL and his brothers are all still young dogs they are full of energy and prospective adopters need to bear this in mind. Welcome PAUL. More information to follow soon. photos Shilpa Grewal www.makants.uk

4.5 year old stunning dark fawn girl BAMBI joined us on the 16th January 2025.
❤BAMBI❤ Stunning dark fawn girl BAMBI joined us on the 16th January 2025. She has settled in well and seems a confident, friendly girl. She has already spent time in our enrichment (home from home) room and enjoyed settling down straight away to watch TV! Bambi takes everything in her stride. She has recently spent time 'supervising' the work on our sensory garden too, even the noise of the drills and saws did not bother her. Described by Siobhan as having a 'beautiful temperament' BAMBI could live with another large breed dog. We are looking for a home for BAMBI with an adopter who has some experience of owning a dog, not necessarily a greyhound. More details on our homing requirements, along with an application form, can be found on this link: https://makants.uk/adopt-foster/ www.makants.uk photo Shilpa Grewal, Sharon Middling

Three and a half year old CASPER joined us on the 10th January 2025.
Three and a half year old CASPER joined us on the 10th January 2025. An all white lad, apart from some lovely colouring on the back of his ears (see pic) Casper is a stunning and quite a big lad - and very friendly. He's getting used to seeing other breeds of dog and the outside world, having many new experiences. He has grown in confidence since he arrived as he was initially wary of the traffic when crossing the road. He has settled in now and has shown he can be quite playful too! photos: Sharon Middling, Shilpa Grewal www.makants.uk

ANGEL arrived with us on the 10th January 2025.
*ANGEL* Three and a half year old ANGEL arrived with us on the 10th January 2025. ANGEL has settled in well but can still be timid and often unsure if she hears new noises. She has already shown our regular volunteers that she enjoys their company and is affectionate in return. ANGEL can also be quite playful and enjoys playing with toys in her kennel. ANGEL walks well on the lead, doesn’t react to other breeds of dog, and loves walking with the other greyhounds, gaining confidence from them. For ANGEL we are looking for an adult only, quiet home with an adopter who can spend time at home with her initially helping her settle in. We think ANGEL would like to be the only hound in a household and anyone interested in adopting ANGEL would need to spend some time visiting and walking her at kennels, in order to build up a trusting relationship. More information on our homing requirements, along with an application form, can be found on our website www.makants.uk photo Shilpa Grewal

An affectionate girl who is always happy to see any visitors greeting them with a waggy tail, DOLLY walks well on the lead and enjoys the company of the other greyhounds. She is slowly getting used to other breeds of dog she meets on her walks but walks well. DOLLY has already lived in a home for a short while before she came to us for homing. DOLLY has settled well with us and enjoys spending time in the enrichment (home from home) room, and although she loves our volunteers, can be strong willed at times thinking she's in charge! We are looking for a child free home for DOLLY and an adopter who would need to spend time at home with her, especially during the initial settling in period. EXPRESS arrived with us on the 12th November 2024 and settled in well. He remains a nervous lad and has taken time to get to know our volunteers and routine, but is now starting to relax. He is taking in a lot of new experiences and growing in confidence each day that passes. Express can still be reactive towards other breeds of dog that he meets on his daily walk but is making progress with some of our regular volunteers who he now trusts. He enjoys a fuss after his walk and has spent some time in our enrichment room. We are looking for a quiet home for Express with someone who has some greyhound/large dog experience. photos Shilpa Grewal, Miriam Payne, Sharon Middling

4 year old REGGIE joined us on the 6th April 2024.
REGGIE D.O.B. January 2020 REGGIE arrived with us in April 2024 and soon settled in. We’ve found him to be a friendly and affectionate boy who loves fuss and his toys in equal measure. He loves to meet any visitors to kennels and laps up the attention! He recently spent some time 'helping' our volunteer John in the sand paddock as he loves human company - and loves to see what's going on! REGGIE also likes his daily walks and can get excited initially when going out but soon settles down. His reactivity towards other breeds has really lessened now thanks to work undertaken by our walking volunteers. REGGIE is a very loving dog. We think he would be happy to live as an only dog or with a female greyhound for company. We're looking for people with some experience of owning a large dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for him. Three year old OTIS arrived with us on the 28th February 2024.
OTIS D.O.B. December 2020 Four year old OTIS arrived with us on the 28th February 2024 along with his brother REUBEN. Reuben has since found his forever home but OTIS is still waiting for his. OTIS is a timid boy but is gaining steadily in confidence. He’s a friendly boy who appreciates the quieter things in life and enjoys attention from our volunteers. He can still be reactive towards other breeds of dog he meets on his walks but this is lessening through exposure and work undertaken by our volunteers. Due to his timid nature we are looking for a quiet, child free home for OTIS. Details on our homing requirements, along with an application form, can be found on our website www.makants.uk photos Shilpa Grewal, Mason Pulman, Jo Maxwell

5 year old STORM arrived with us on the 8th November 2023.
STORM (Female) D.O.B. April 2019 5 year old STORM arrived with us on the 8th November 2023. On arrival STORM was very timid as everything was new to her. As she has settled in, and after being given some time, she has improved and is now making great progress gaining confidence day by day. This is in part thanks to the support of our volunteers and the new experiences they are able to offer her. However, STORM still remains anxious at times and can be sensitive to loud noises. STORM enjoys frequent trips out in a volunteers' car to a nearby area where she enjoys her walks and has had many new experiences - which she has coped well with. Storm travels well in the car and is not reactive to other breeds of dog she meets on her walks. She particularly enjoys spending time in water if she can, and also loves a good run around in our on site sand paddock. Siobhan describes Storm as a 'lovely, gentle soul'. She is happy and relaxed in her kennel and quite playful with volunteers she knows and trusts. We feel STORM would thrive in a home with at least one other dog for company and would gain confidence from following their lead. We are looking for a quiet home for Storm without small children as they make her anxious. Anyone interested in adopting Storm would need to spend considerable time at kennels getting to know her as part of the pre adoption process. We also feel Storm would need someone at home for the initial ‘settling in’ period. Information on our homing requirements, along with an application form, can be found on our website www.makants.uk photos Shilpa Grewal, Sue Wraith, Anne Taberner

Five year old LADDIE joined us on the 18th November 2022.
LADDIE D.O.B. September 2019 Five year old LADDIE joined us on the 18th November 2022. Described by Siobhan as a 'lovely gentle and friendly lad', LADDIE has settled in well. He loves a cuddle and gets on well with all our female greyhounds, but with male greyhounds he is a little more picky who he spends his time with. Laddie can be an anxious boy at times if he finds himself in a new situation but can be reassured by his regular walkers who he ABSOLUTELY loves. Recently Laddie has enjoyed time spent in our new enrichment (home from home) room and also loves volunteers spending time with him after walks in his kennel (as these photos show) photo credit Shilpa Grewal, Alex, Jo Maxwell
