MURRAY

MURRAY arrived with us on the 13th April 2024. He is currently being assessed, but we can tell you that he is a lovely, gentle and laid back greyhound. 3.5 year old stunning fawn boy RENLEY arrived with us on the 13th April 2024.

RENLEY

Stunning fawn boy RENLEY arrived with us on the 13th April 2024. He is currently being assessed and is not reactive to other dogs he meets on this walks.. He has been described by Siobhan as a 'fabulous' dog! First impressions tell us that he would prefer a home where the owners are at home a large amount of the time and certainly at the beginning to settle him in. photo Shilpa Grewal

Five year old WEEZY joined us on the 6th April 2024.

Tiny young girl MIDGE joined us on the 6th April 2024.

MIDGE

Tiny young girl MIDGE joined us on the 6th April 2024. MIDGE hasn't raced and is small, even for a female, weighing in at 22kg. A gorgeous, friendly girl who is full of life. More information to follow as we get to know her. photos Shilpa Grewal

*CINDY is now RESERVED* 3.5 year old CINDY arrived with us on the 11th March 2024.

CINDY

3.5 year old CINDY arrived with us on the 11th March 2024. CINDY, with her expressive ears, is a confident girl who is easy to walk. She just loves people and is fine with other breeds of dog she meets. Described by Siobhan as a 'happy, go lucky' girl, she is now more than ready for her forever home. REUBEN, along with his brother OTIS, arrived with us on the 28th February 2024.

*REUBEN IS OUR DOG OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL* REUBEN, along with his brother OTIS, arrived with us on the 28th February 2024. They are both settling in well. REUBEN is a lovely friendly lad who is easy to walk and not reactive to other breeds of dog he meets on his daily walk. Even though he is fairly new to us we really think REUBEN could be a great first greyhound for someone who is new to the breed. OTIS

Three year old OTIS arrived with us on the 28th February.

OTIS

Three year old OTIS arrived with us on the 28th February along with his brother REUBEN. OTIS was a little timid at first and is now starting to settle in. He walks well on a lead but still needs time to get used to other breeds of dog, something our volunteers are working on. photos Shilpa Grewal, Mason Pulman

BELLE

*BELLE is now RESERVED* Four year old BELLE arrived with us on the 19th February.

NAOMI

Two and a half year old NAOMI joined us on New Years' Eve 2023.

NAOMI

Two and a half year old NAOMI joined us on New Years' Eve 2023. NAOMI arrived a very timid girl. She is settling now and is more at ease with the volunteers she has met and trusts and she is not reactive to other dogs she meets when out on her daily walks. We feel NAOMI could equally live on her own or with a male greyhound and we are looking for adopters with previous experience of owning a dog (not necessarily a greyhound). photos Shilpa Grewal, Jo Maxwell

BEAR

*BEAR is now RESERVED* Four and a half year old cheeky looking lad BEAR arrived with us at the beginning of December.

BEAR

Four and a half year old cheeky looking lad BEAR arrived with us at the beginning of December and settled in well. He walks well, loves looking at the outside world and is not reactive to other breeds of dog. He always has a waggy tail for our volunteers and has been described by them as 'amazing' and 'really sweet'. On arrival with us it became apparent that BEAR has a cataract in his left eye. He has been seen by our veterinary practice and having the cataract does not interfere with his daily life, neither does it need any treatment at the present time. We feel BEAR could make an ideal first greyhound for someone who is new to the breed. STORM

4 year old STORM arrived with us on the 8th November 2023.

STORM

4 year old STORM arrived with us on the 8th November 2023. On arrival STORM was very timid as everything was new to her. As she has settled in, and after being given some time, she has improved and is now making great progress gaining confidence day by day. This is in part thanks to the support of our volunteers and the new experiences they are able to offer her. However, STORM still remains anxious at times and loud noises can be a trigger. Recently Storm was able to enjoy a day out of kennels with our volunteers Justine, Julian and their Makants hound Nadia. Storm enjoyed her day, was fine with other breeds she met on a walk around Worsley, and took everything in her stride including navigating steps on the bridge. Another new experience was spending time in our volunteers’ home and garden with Storm even managing to try out their sofa too!😁 Siobhan describes Storm as a 'lovely, gentle soul'.🥰 Information on our homing requirements, along with an application form, can be found on our website www.makants.uk photo Shilpa Grewal, Julian Ainsworth

BUDDY

Four year old BUDDY arrived with us on the 17th May 2023.

BUDDY

Handsome BUDDY arrived with us on the 17th May 2023. As he settled in we found that he has a cheeky personality and he is always up to trying to steal toys off his next door neighbour in kennels. He really does love playing with toys, whether they belong to him or someone else! BUDDY is easy to walk and initially was reactive towards other breeds of dogs he met on his walks. However, his behaviour has greatly improved with help from our volunteers and from exposure to other breeds he has met on his daily walks. He enjoys regular visits to the local Starbucks for a pupuccino. BUDDY is a steady boy and a friendly lad who would be quite happy to be the only dog in a home. CHIEF

CHIEF arrived with us on the 4th December 2022 and has already become a firm favourite of our volunteers.

CHIEF

This handsome lad arrived with us on the 4th December 2022 and soon become a firm favourite of our volunteers. He is a gentle, quiet boy and is described by Siobhan as 'adorable'. CHIEF is great on the lead and, although he is getting used to other breeds of dog he meets when out on walks, he can still be vocal at times. We are looking for an adopter who has experience of larger dogs and who can be around at home at least initially to help CHIEF settle in. CHIEF enjoys spending time in the enrichment (home from home) room, playing with his toys and also enjoys being brushed. CHIEF recently enjoyed a day out with kennel friend MILLIE, enjoying lots of new experiences. LADDIE

Four year old LADDIE joined us on the 18th November 2022.

LADDIE

Four year old LADDIE joined us on the 18th November 2022. Described by Siobhan as a 'lovely gentle and friendly lad', LADDIE has settled in well. He loves a cuddle and gets on well with all our female greyhounds, but with male greyhounds he is a little more picky who he spends his time with. Laddie can get anxious boy at times if he finds himself in a new situation but can be reassured by his regular walkers who he loves.
