Our shop is open EVERY THURSDAY from 10 am to 3 pm AND EVERY SATURDAY from 10 am until 12.30 pm. We are based on Mort Lane, Tyldesley, M29 8PF – opposite Tyldesley distribution – with parking on site. Visit us for raincoats and fleeces, harnesses, martingale and house collars, treats and much more!

Sunday 5th July 2026 – Tyldesley Carnival – Fun Dog show. We are pleased to be hosting the fun dog show at this year’s Tyldesley Carnival, being held at Tyldesley Rugby Club.
There’s six classes to chose from starting at 1 pm. Entries are just £2 per class, payable on the day. Bring your furry friend along to the Carnival, you never know they could win Best in Show!
**Best in Show and Reserve in Show prizes are kindly being donated by the Dogs Deli in Tyldesley.**

We are pleased to be attending the Worker Bee Markets Homes and Gardens event being held in the Village Square, Bramhall. We’ll have hand made crafts for sale and hope to have greyhounds for you to meet too. An enjoyable day out for the whole family, we hope to see you there!

NAIL CLIPPING

Our next nail clipping session at kennels is taking place on Saturday 11th July from11.30 am to 12.30 pm
*We would respectfully ask that anyone attends during this hour ONLY.*No appointment is required but please be advised that you may have a lengthy wait to be seen. We do ask for a donation to the
rescue for this service.
Please note: You are responsible for yourself and your dog (s). You MUST muzzle your dog if there is the possibility they may be reactive towards other dogs.
Sunday 12th July 2026 – 11 am to 1 pm – Our volunteers return to the Pets at Home, Middlebrook, Horwich store on Sunday12th July from 11 am to 1 pm.

SNOWDON CHALLENGE – Sunday 12th July 2026
On Sunday 12th July a team of Makants volunteers will undertake the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) walk via the Llanberis Path, raising funds for the rescue.
The team have been in training over the past year for the event and would welcome more experienced walkers to join them on the challenge.
If you’d like to join them parking is opposite where the mountain train runs from, it’s pay and display, postcode LL55 4TY.
They are meeting at 7 am and starting the climb at 7.30 am. There will be the opportunity to meet up after the walk in a local pub too!

Sunday 19th July 2026 – 11 am to 1 pm – Our volunteers return to the Pets at Home, Walkden store on Sunday 19th July from 11 am to 1 pm. If you’ve ever wondered about greyhounds as pets please do come along for a chat, and meet some greyhounds too!
26th July 2026 for one week – Makants volunteer Bex Rimmington is undertaking an amazing Geneva to Nice cycle (770km) to raise funds for the rescue and her other chosen charity Sjögren’s UK.
The course takes in some of the Alps’ most iconic climbs, including the Col de la Colombière, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and the legendary Alpe d’Huez.
As well as volunteering at the rescue and regularly walking Express, Bex has been training for some time and tells us: ‘Flying out to Geneva, taking on the mountains and completing this challenge in support of Makants and Sjögren’s UK will be an unforgettable experience’. We are in awe of your skill and determination, Bex! Thank you for undertaking this challenge for us.

Bryn’s Big Weekend, – 25th and 26th July 2026.
We’re pleased to have a stall at this popular Community two day event, this year being held in July.
Taking place on Brocstedes Avenue, Ashton in Makerfield, WN4 ONJ from 10 am to 4 pm each day.
We’ll have dog related items for sale, greyhounds for you to meet and our famous tombola too. See you there!

Sunday 2nd August 2026 – 10 am to 2 pm, Avant Garden centre, Wigan Road, Leyland. We are delighted to be returning to Avant Garden centre on the 2nd August 2026. We’ll have hand made items for sale, dog related merchandise and – of course – some greyhounds for you to meet! If you’ve ever wondered about adopting why not come along for a chat with our volunteers?
