Saturday 15th February 2025 – ** now fully booked** Our second ‘Meet a Greyhound’ event at kennels for 2025, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. If you’ve ever wondered what greyhounds are like as pets, have questions about adopting or would just like to meet a greyhound this is for you! By Appointment ONLY. Please e mail admin@makants.uk to register your interest. Adopted Makants hound DALLAS and owner Alex look forward to meeting you.

Sunday 16th February 2025 – We are pleased to be returning to Pets at Home Walkden from 11 am to 1 pm. If you’ve ever wondered about adopting or just want to know more about the breed, why not come along for a chat? Please support your local greyhound rescue.

Saturday 22nd February 2025 We are pleased to be returning to Tesco in Leigh (WN7 4BA) to fundraise and raise awareness of greyhounds as pets. We’re in store from 10.30 am to 4 pm. We’ll have greyhounds for you to meet too. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about adopting a greyhound please come and chat – or just stop and say hello when you’re out shopping!

Saturday 22nd February 2025 – We are pleased to be returning to Pets at Home Horwich on Saturday 22nd February from 11 am to 1 pm. If you’ve ever wondered about adopting or just want to know more about the breed, why not come along for a chat?

MARCH 2025

We are pleased to be holding a sighthound social dog walk on Sunday 2nd March at:

Pennington Flash, Leigh WN7 3PA
Meet: near the Hide cafe,
Time: 10.00am to set off at 10.30 am

Walk length: Approx one hour with shorter route option available

All dogs must remain on leads, no extendable leads please.
Voluntary £2 donation per hound.

Saturday 8th March 2025 – Nail clipping session at kennels, 11.30 to 12.30. No appointment required (be aware you may have a lengthy wait) and we do ask for a donation for this service. Greyhounds only please.

Saturday 8th March 2025 – We are pleased to have a stall for the first time on Chorley’s monthly Makers market, which is held on Fazackerley Street in the town centre.

We’ll be there from 10 am to 4 pm with a wide selection of hand made items including dog coats and bandanas along with other gift items. We also should have a greyhound or two for you to meet during the day. We look forward to seeing you, please come along and support local makers – and your local greyhound rescue too!

Saturday 8th March 2025 – We are pleased to be back fundraising and raising awareness at Tyldesley Makers market in the town centre, from 10 am to 2 pm. Please come along and support your local greyhound rescue.

APRIL 2025

APRIL IS ‘ADOPT A GREYHOUND MONTH’

Saturday 5th April 2025 – Nail clipping session at kennels, 11.30 to 12.30. No appointment required (be aware you may have a lengthy wait) and we do ask for a donation for this service. Greyhounds only please.

Sunday 6th April 2025 – St. Aiden’s Parish Social centre, Highfield Grange Avenue, Wigan WN3 6EE, 10 am to 4 pm. We are pleased to be attending this event with a selection of hand made crafts for sale. All made by our very own Crafters group too! Please come along and support your local greyhound rescue, you may find a unique gift too.

Please note: Dogs are not allowed in the hall.

Saturday 12th April 2025 – We are pleased to have a stall on Chorley’s monthly Makers market, which is held on Fazakerley Street in the town centre.

Sunday 13th April 2025 – We are pleased to be returning to Avant Garden centre in Leyland with many Easter crafts for sale and greyhounds for you to meet! Please come along and support your local greyhound rescue. We’re there from 10 am to 2 pm.

*Please note: dogs are not allowed inside the garden centre*

Saturday 19th April 2025 – Fundraising stall at Andrea’s Legacy Easter Fair, Kingsleigh Hall, King Street, Leigh WN7 4LR, 12 noon to 4 pm. We are pleased to have a stall at this event raising funds for the rescue. We will have Easter themed items and Easter crafts for sale with all funds raised being used for the ongoing care of the greyhounds at our rescue.
