SENSORY GARDEN
Planting up in the Sensory Garden took place earlier this month, which was followed by lots of time spent watering the plants due to the unseasonably high temperatures! There is still some work to be done regarding the pathways between the flower beds and a pergola to purchase, but we’re getting there!
The garden is already showing itself to be such an asset to the rescue, a place where volunteers – and prospective adopters – are able to spend time with a hound in a relaxing and calming environment. A great deal of consideration has gone into the planning of the garden with all plants being chosen to provide scent, colour, texture, movement – and taste (all the plants are non toxic). A variety of shrubs, grasses, ferns, flowering perennials and herbs have been incorporated into the garden, all able to withstand extreme weather conditions – and inquisitive long noses!
Recent visitors to the garden have included GARETH and DOLLY who enjoyed thoroughly investigating the area. Dolly was especially interested in the reflection in the mirror!😍
We’ll keep you informed on progress, our thanks to our hard working garden volunteer team who are making this dream a reality.
