*IN MEMORIAM* *MABEL*
Last month we were saddened to hear of the passing of adopted Makants hound MABEL.
MABEL was the much loved hound companion of Elizabeth and she has sent us this lovely memorial which we share with you here:
‘Mabel adopted me in July 2020 after being fostered by Sue Sewell. After a short time of readjustment, Mabel loved being ‘top dog’ – in fact she loved being ‘only dog’! She soon had me trained up to her satisfaction.
She was funny, curious and loyal, she followed me everywhere and we became a bonded pair. Mabel was wary of humans she didn’t know and wasn’t very interested in other dogs. Once she got to know you, she was your friend for life. Her motto was ‘why stand up when you can lie down?’ and she created lying down space wherever she went.
Mabel loved being outside and was always ready for a new adventure. I miss her, she stole my heart and I am so grateful for the short time we had together. Run free gorgeous girl.’ Elizabeth
At the rescue we have lovely memories of Mabel too, particularly when she attended the Chorley Flower Show with her antics causing much amusement.
Sending love to Elizabeth at this very difficult time.
