IN MEMORIAM

Recently we were saddened to hear of the passing of adopted Makants hound Bluebell who lived with Maria and Pete and Makants hounds Domingo and Toby.

Bluebell (or Blue was she was originally named) was adopted in Spring 2015 having arrived at Makants from a very poor background. Maria and Pete met Bluebell at kennels and it was love at first sight.

Maria recalls: ‘Our Makants hound Domingo adored her from the start and she was his shadow for the first 6 months until her confidence increased and she realised she’d found her loving home. She became the most affectionate girl and, when we started boarding dogs in 2018 she was a fantastic ambassador, welcoming new dogs and their owners and making them feel special.

When her canine brother Toby arrived she loved playing with him too.
Her most favourite thing of all was going on holiday, she would get so excited as we packed the van and would run round ‘yipping’.

She was a cheeky girl who would steal food if there was an opportunity and enjoyed collecting toys from the boarders, putting them in her bed! Last year she attended Chorley Flower show as a sponsor for Makants and loved all the fuss people made of her. We were so very lucky to have her in our lives for 7 years and will never forget her.’

We send our love and condolences to Maria and Pete at this very sad time.
