FOSTER HOUND TAYLOR NEEDS HIS FOREVER HOME
Having arrived with us last November handsome boy TAYLOR is our dog of the month for May. He has been lucky to spend 11 weeks so far in foster care with Makants volunteer Julia and her adopted Makants hound Pheby.
During this time Taylor has made great progress and has gone from walking on a harness to a collar as his walking etiquette has improved so much! He now no longer strains on the lead and is more relaxed on his daily walks.
Taylor can still be reactive towards other dogs especially smaller breeds. However, during his time in foster care he has met many other breeds and has harmoniously spent time with a much smaller dog and seems to be learning how to behave around other dogs, often taking his cue from hound mate Pheby. As Taylor is a big dog and can be a bouncy lad, we are looking for an adopter who has experience of handling larger breeds.
Julia reports that Taylor has been fine when left to go shopping and is now fully house trained. She also says that Taylor is a really affectionate boy who likes to be close to you and who loves his cuddles..
We believe that, whilst he has now settled well with another dog, he would flourish as the only dog in a household. Taylor would need someone to be around the majority of the time too, at least for his settling in period.
