APRIL IS ADOPT A GREYHOUND MONTH
We love hearing how our adopted hounds are settling into their new lives.
Nicola, a Makants volunteer, got in touch to tell us about LUCA, who was adopted in April 2024.
She says: ‘I adopted Luca after he melted my heart with his sweet kind face the day after he arrived at kennels in the January. Siobhan thought he’d be a good match with my existing Makants hound Minnie so after several introductions at kennels, he came home.
Luca settled quickly indoors, but took a while and lots of patience, for him to get comfortable with the noises of the outside world. I’m pleased to say he now enjoys his walks around the local area and is getting more confident at visiting new places. He absolutely loves toys and happily shares them with Minnie.
They rub along well together now and enjoy doing ‘zoomies’ round the garden every day – a joy to see.
I feel so lucky and privileged to share my life with these two amazing dogs. They are my world and I’m happiest when I’m with them, even if it’s just sitting on the sofa, enjoying a cuppa and watching them sleep’. 💗
