SENSORY GARDEN OPENS!

OUR SENSORY GARDEN IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ

We are pleased to announce that, after two years in the making, the sensory garden at kennels is now officially OPEN!๐ŸŽ‰

Our thanks to Wendy Draper and Martin Draper and all members of the dedicated gardening team who have spent many hours working hard to make the garden a reality.

Also thanks to our talented garden designer volunteer Pauline Cross who created a design incorporating colour, scent, taste texture and movement, with all plants being completely dog friendly.

Here’s some facts regarding the items used in constructing the garden:

We’ve used:

๐Ÿ”ธ 34 railway sleepers

๐Ÿ”ธ 12 tonnes of topsoil,

๐Ÿ”ธ20 tonnes of MOT,

๐Ÿ”ธ7 tonnes of grit sand,

๐Ÿ”ธ4 tonnes of bark,

๐Ÿ”ธseveral flagstones

๐Ÿ”ธartificial grass

๐Ÿ”ธand 180 plants!

On Saturday we held an opening ceremony to which we invited the volunteer garden team and several of the garden sponsors.

We’re sharing a few photos today of the opening ceremony and will be sharing more photos soon of the greyhounds enjoying this amazing area, it certainly is a ‘sanctuary for the soul’.๐Ÿ’—
