🌟FUNDRAISING FOR THE ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY🌟

On Sunday we held a social dog walk to support our volunteer Darryl and to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Darryl has been volunteering for us for a year now appearing at many of our events with his hound FINN and Yorkie BELLE.

Back in January 2021 he lost his wife Susan at the age of 57, having been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s some 6 years previously. Sadly, Darryl also had to say his goodbyes to Susan whilst wearing PPE as it was during the Covid pandemic.

The pair spent their latter days visiting places they always loved including Scotland and Cornwall. They also enjoyed a trip to Bents Garden centre and it was always a place they loved visiting together especially before Xmas to view the Xmas decorations. The walk took place through Windy Bank woods adjacent to Bents and we’re delighted to say that £315.25 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Susan.

Thanks to everyone who attended the walk and supported the event.
