❤VALENTINE’S WEEK❤
We know some of our walking volunteers build up a strong bond with the dog they walk each week, even more so if the hound is in kennels for any length of time.
We asked volunteer Gillian about her Valentine hound LADDIE.
Gillian says: ‘Laddie is my Valentine. I have been walking Laddie every Saturday for the past 8 months. I absolutely adore this lovely lad and love spending time with him as I feel we have a connection.
Laddie has the sweetest eyes, loves cuddles on his bed and a good ear rub. Over the time I have been walking him his behaviour has improved – he can still be a challenge at times – but I have learnt how to redirect him.
After a walk he will always sit and wait on his bed as he knows he will get treats! I love spending time with him, he enjoys a massage too. I always look forward to my Saturday mornings with him, it really does make my weekend.
I’m unable to adopt Laddie but if circumstances were different I wouldn’t hesitate to make him mine. He will make someone a wonderful companion’.
