TODAY, 11th December 2024 we are 11 years old!
It’s hard to believe that Makants was founded by Siobhan with the first intake being just one dog and one slip lead, 11 years ago!
The past few years certainly haven’t always been easy – what with COVID and the economic downturn – but we have, with your help, remained resilient and over those years have been able to help over 690 ex racing greyhounds into loving homes.
Siobhan says ‘I am just so grateful to you all for your continued support over the past 11 years. I started the rescue with just 5 kennels and that has now grown to 21! The rescue has expanded over the years to include an office, our shop, the enrichment (home from home) room and plans are already underway to add a sensory garden on our grounds next year too. With continued support from our Trustees, Volunteers and wider community I know the rescue will continue to go from strength to strength, and I look forward to the future continuing to care for and rehome these wonderful dogs.’
