*Definition – improving a greyhounds quality of life, physical and mental health*

By now you’ve probably seen plenty of photos on our social media channels of our greyhounds using the enrichment (home from home) room, usually working out *what* that box on the wall is, wondering *what* that noise is, or even squeezing themselves onto the nearest chair! 😂

However, do you know we also take our greyhounds in the same room for other enrichment activities such as using a ‘Lickimat’ or to use puzzle solving toys?

A ‘Lickimat’ – spread with something delicious such as dog friendly peanut butter – can calm a hound as the repetitive licking action releases a calming hormone (while still being a tasty treat too!)

Mental stimulation is also incredibly important, and trying to figure out how to use an interactive toy also helps to keep a greyhound entertained and staves off boredom.

❗PLUS❗…. STOP PRESS …. we have some exciting plans to further improve the quality of life for our hounds in kennels. Our latest project – an onsite sensory garden – is currently in the planning stages, more information to be released soon!
