SENSORY GARDEN OPENS!

OUR SENSORY GARDEN IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!🌼🌸🌺

We are pleased to announce that, after two years in the making, the sensory garden at kennels is now officially OPEN!🎉

Our thanks to Wendy Draper and Martin Draper and all members of the dedicated gardening team who have spent many hours working hard to make the garden a reality.

Also thanks to our talented garden designer volunteer Pauline Cross who created a design incorporating colour, scent, taste texture and movement, with all plants being completely dog friendly.

Here’s some facts regarding the items used in constructing the garden:

We’ve used:

🔸 34 railway sleepers

🔸 12 tonnes of topsoil,

🔸20 tonnes of MOT,

🔸7 tonnes of grit sand,

🔸4 tonnes of bark,

🔸several flagstones

🔸artificial grass

🔸and 180 plants!

 

On Saturday we held an opening ceremony to which we invited the volunteer garden team and several of the garden sponsors.

We’re sharing a few photos today of the opening ceremony and will be sharing more photos soon of the greyhounds enjoying this amazing area, it certainly is a ‘sanctuary for the soul’.💗
