Three year old LOU arrived with us on the 5th July 2026.

Due to the recent heatwave she hasn’t yet experienced as much of life in the outside world as we would like. However, now cooler weather has retuned she has been enjoying her daily walks with our volunteers and we’re told she walks well on the lead.

LOU is a quiet girl and can appear timid but we’re sure her confidence will increase in time. During the heatwave she enjoyed spending time with our volunteers in kennels and has already made an impression, having been described as ‘adorable’ by Siobhan!

LOU has also visited our onsite Enrichment (home from home) room for the first time. She was a little nervous at first being in a different environment but enjoyed cuddles – and soon became familiar with the noise of the treat tin being opened!

LOU is having lots of new experiences and settling well into life at Makants.
