EXPRESS arrived with us on the 12th November 2024 and settled in well. Initially he was a little wary and took some time to get to know our volunteers and routine, but soon started to relax. His confidence has continued to increase with each passing day.
At the beginning Express was reactive towards other breeds of dog that he met on his daily walks. Through daily exposure – and guidance from our walking volunteers – his behaviour has changed and he is relaxed on walks, being able to walk past any breed of dog calmly.
He also enjoys a fuss after his walk and has spent some time in our enrichment room with our volunteers. He particularly loves zooming around our sand paddock!
Recently Express enjoyed some time away from kennels, walking in Worsley woods where he had new experiences including noisy trucks and workmen laying a new path. We’re pleased to say he took everything in his stride and was particularly happy to meet one of our volunteers and her hounds while on their walk.
We are grateful to our volunteers for enabling Express to have new experiences such as this, all of which is vital preparation for his new life as a pet.
We are looking for a quiet home for Express with someone who has some greyhound/large dog experience. We don’t think Express would like to live with children.
