MEET A GREYHOUND EVENT
This past weekend we held another of our Meet a Greyhound events at kennels. A very chilled adopted Makants hound IVY came along with owner Ellen, who was happy to talk to visitors for three hours on everything related to greyhounds. Thanks to them and to the visitors who came along to meet them.
It seems like an ideal occasion to remind you of the support you will receive from Makants if you adopt from us. We can offer you support, BEFORE, DURING and AFTER Adoption!
BEFORE adoption:
*We offer an opportunity to meet a greyhound and ask questions with a knowledgeable volunteer. An ideal opportunity to find out more about greyhounds as pets (by appointment only)
*We encourage you to walk the greyhounds at kennels several times to get to know the breed
DURING the adoption process:
*A home visit from our rehoming coordinator to discuss suitable greyhounds and discuss our homing requirements (details of requirements can be found on our website)
*A two week home trial before adopting your greyhound with support available at the end of the phone during this time
AFTER adoption:
*Continued phone support where needed
*Opportunity to attend monthly nail clipping sessions with your greyhound, held at kennels in familiar surroundings
*Opportunity to attend social sighthound walks in the local area, a great opportunity to connect with other sighthound owners
*A dedicated private facebook group ‘ Makants Amigos’ for adopters of Makants greyhounds, an ideal way to connect with other adopters
*On site kennels shop, open twice weekly, for all your greyhound needs staffed by knowledgeable volunteers
Our Adoption fee is just £175 and also comes with four weeks’ free insurance which is offered through Petplan, details are provided in our adoption packs.
