*FUNDRAISING WALK FOR ALZHEIMERS SOCIETY*

SUNDAY 3 MARCH 2024, WINDY BANK WOODS, GLAZEBURY WA3 5NT
10 am meet for 10.30 start
Flat walk of 5.5km with shorter route option for older dogs (30 minutes)
Sighthounds and any COMPANION DOGS from same household only please
ALL DOGS must remain on leads, no extendable leads please
£2 donation per hound please to Alzheimer’s Society

We have chosen to support the Alzheimer’s Society on this walk through Windy Bank Woods to show our support for our valued volunteer Darryl.

Darryl has been volunteering for us for a year now appearing at many of our events with his hound FINN and Yorkie BELLE. Back in January 2021 he lost his wife Susan at the age of 57, having been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s some 6 years previously. Sadly, Darryl also had to say his goodbyes to Susan whilst wearing PPE as it was during the Covid pandemic.

The pair spent their latter days visiting places they always loved including Scotland and Cornwall. We have chosen to hold this walk at this venue as a trip to Bents Garden centre was always a place they loved visiting together especially before Xmas to view the Xmas decorations.

Having had support from the Alzheimer’s Society Darryl would like to give his thanks by continuing to raise awareness of the Society and by raising donations through this walk.
