SQUAT CHALLENGE FOR MAKANTS

Recently Makants supporter Karen Hurst completed her 4,000 squat challenge for Makants. The money raised, together with a donation from her Tilly’s Natural Treats business, made the total raised a fabulous £300!

Karen tells us ‘I’ve always been a dog lover, owning two huskies myself and my mum has 2 greyhounds. When I found out about Makants I really wanted to help as much as I could. I first came over to Makants in October 2020 to collect a hamper I had won and instantly fell in love with the rescue centre and all of the dogs. I soon became a volunteer and I now help out in the shop when needed or to walk the dogs.

I got into fitness in the middle of last year to help lose some weight that I had put on after having my second child, I was going to just do 3,000 squats but felt that wasn’t a hard enough challenge so I increased my target to 4,000 which I’m pleased to say I reached on the 24th April. I absolutely loved doing the challenge and to know it has raised money for such a lovely charity made it even more worthwhile.’

Thanks so much to Karen, all her customers and everyone who sponsored her. Here she is with kennel hound Prince having completed her challenge at kennels on the 24th April.
