FOSTER HOUND HILLY – MAY 2020
Sweet boy HILLY has been with his foster carer Andy for seven weeks now and, according to Andy, has been a ‘joy to have around the house, being the perfect home working companion.’
Hilly, with his puppy dog eyes, has shown what a gentle soul he is around the house. He loves attention and affection, with belly rubs being his favourite!
However, Hilly remains nervous around other dogs and when out on walks reacts by barking and lunging. His behaviour has improved with input from Andy and he is now usually able to pass other dogs without reacting, as long as they keep a (social) distance. Any prospective adopter would need to continue to with work with Hilly on this.
Hilly is completely house trained, taking himself to the back door when he needs to go out
Hilly is a boy who loves to play with squeaky toys and Andy’s gardening gloves are particular favourites. During his time in lockdown Hilly has also mastered some simple commands and has enjoyed his training.
Hilly enjoys his walks and at the moment has three 30 minute walks a day. Andy has found that Hilly enjoys jogging along with him and that when jogging he is distracted from other dogs in the vicinity. This has helped calm his reactivity and Andy has never been fitter!

*We are now ONLY able to consider homings for those people who have already had a home check undertaken by our rescue (pre lockdown) or have had a home check in the past prior to adopting one of our greyhounds*

*Have had and passed a homecheck in the past undertaken by a greyhound rescue that we are able to contact and verify with*
