LOTTIE

Stunning LOTTIE arrived with us just before Christmas. She was a little anxious at first and unsettled by the noise of the traffic when out walking. We're pleased to say she now takes it all in her stride and is settling in well. We believe Lottie would prefer to be homed as an only dog in the household. More information as we get to know her better.

DYLAN

Fawn lad DYLAN arrived with us at the end of December last year. He's a lovely boy with a friendly character and has settled in well. More information to follow as we get to know him.

PADDY

Paddy arrived with us just before Christmas last year. He's settled in well and is a loving and affectionate boy. He loves his daily walks with the volunteers and walks well on the lead. More information to follow as we get to know him.

TOM

Sandy boy TOM arrived with us at the end of November. He's a lovely lad, and on a recent sleepover with one of our volunteers was described as 'exceptionally smart and very affectionate'.

QUEEN

Two year old Queen arrived with us very recently (27.11.19). She is settling well, has a friendly nature and is quite a confident girl too. Queen has shown no reaction towards other breeds of dog that she's met.

MARSHA

Shy girl MARSHA arrived with us in November last year. Marsha's personality is starting to come through with Siobhan describing her as 'very giddy and very sweet'. More information to follow.

TAYLOR

Black and white (cow hound) Taylor arrived with us at the beginning of November. He is a quiet lad and we are slowly getting to know him. More details to follow.

HARRY

Handsome Harry arrived with us at the beginning of November and is settling in well. He has become known as 'High Energy Harry' as he has lots of it! We believe Harry would suit an active family, probably with teenage children, where he would be able to enjoy long walks and be able to burn off some of that energy!

BULLET

Bullet is a young boy, 2 years old, and has never raced. He behaves well with all other breeds of dog. He's friendly, easy to walk and being young is still a bit bouncy! Bullet recently enjoyed a sleepover with one of our regular volunteers - his magpie traits came to the fore and he found it fun to collect items, including candlesticks and a vase, to take to his bed!

JACKIE

Two year old Jackie is a new lad (arrived in October 2019) and has wasted no time forming his own fan club! He has proved to be a big gentle giant and, wearing a 32/34 inch coat, one of the largest dogs we’ve ever had in kennels. He walks very well on a lead, doesn't react to other dogs, he's very quiet in kennels and Siobhan has never heard him bark. Everyone loves him :)

ALFIE

Four year old Alfie is a friendly lad who loves to play ball. He loves people too and enjoys time spent with volunteers, especially if they spend time cuddling him in his kennel. Alfie walks well on the lead.

ZANE

Zane is a large friendly boy. He's easy to walk and looks forward to walk time every day. We feel Zane would suit an active home, preferably with older/teenage children (due to his size) as he likes to be involved in everything that's going on.

CHUCK

Chuck arrived with us in September 2019. This Four year old boy is friendly and affectionate and loves cuddles. He would be ideally placed with a female hound for company or would be happy to live as an only hound.

CHARLIE

Charlie arrived with us in May this year and has settled in well. He gets on well with the other greyhounds and looks forward to his daily walks. In fact he does get very excited when it’s time for walkies! He does soon settle though and enjoys his walks treating each one as a new adventure. Charlie walks well on the lead and is very clean in his kennel.

ROBBIE

Stunning fawn and white four year old kennel hound Robbie has been in our kennels for over a year now. Robbie, who arrived in August 2018, is a very friendly lad who gets on well with the other greyhounds in kennels. He’s a little excitable when he knows it’s time for walkies but soon settles down once out and about with the volunteers. Robbie is getting used to the big wide world and has had new experiences including meeting other breeds of dog.

JOE

Joe has been with us for a year now. Joe has to be one of the laziest hounds we have ever had in kennels., he would rather stay in bed all day and not go out at all – and that’s on a fine day! Rainy days are a real ‘no go’! On his walks, Joe has been shown to be reactive towards other breeds of dog. However, our volunteers have spent considerable time with him working on his behavior and we’re pleased to say he has made great progress.

HILLY

Hilly arrived with us in April this year, settled in well and is slowly learning about the world. He loves to watch the world go by and take everything in. He is a friendly young dog with lovely endearing puppy dog eyes. He put them to good use when he modelled our new dog coats and we think he secretly also loved all the attention!

MAX

*UPDATE* Max is in foster care with another dog locally, look out for more updates soon. Max arrived with us in July 2019. He is a small male, has settled well and seems to have a quiet and shy nature. When out walking he is a steady lad and does not seem to be reactive to other breeds of dog. We’re pleased to report he has started to play with toys.

PATRICK

It’s hard to believe but our lovely long stay hound Patrick has been with us for four years now, having arrived with us in the summer of 2015. He was an extremely nervous boy initially, especially around people. It was a major task even to coax him out of his kennel and Siobhan spent a great deal of time working with him to gain his trust. These days Pat loves cuddles from the people he has grown to know and trust. He allows regular volunteers into his kennel who love to give him fuss and, most importantly, treats!
